usage band

The intended application of a specific compilation scale of a chart. It is a concept from paper chart usage. Thus a paper chart with scale of 1:40,000 is considered a Harbor Chart. 1:80,000 is considered a Approach Chart. This system has been carried over to ENC with new definitions, and the trend being put forth is to use the new definitions and consider usage band the same as scale band. This is not an important point. See scale band
