| Canada The following are a few links to specifc discussions of Canadian weather or sources in the program. Radiofacsimile maps for Canada are listed are listed in the North America section of the Fax schedule index. Environment Canada (EC) office is listed in the Source Book addresses. See G206 for the description of a severe front passing onto the British Columbia coast. EC has produced two excellent books on marine weather (maybe more, these are the ones we know of): Marine weather hazards of the BC coast and Marine weather of the Great Lakes. See the Source book under book titles. For latest internet links to weather and navigational matters affecting Canadian waters, check: www.starpath.com. Environment Canada has a very useful fax back service for maps and text reports. See Source Book fax services. There are many specific references to Canadian services in the Source Book. There is a particularly valuble set of publications called Marine Weather Services, which are analogous to the US Marine weather services chart. Also in the Source Book the Canadian radio services are discussed. Voice report on BC marine weather is available by phone at 604-666-3655. See Canadian Local notice to mariners. |
