• As of 2021, NOAA discontinued supporting the publication of all tide and current tables books as they had done so for decades. This has a major impact on how we predict tides and currents in navigation. It also renders most treatments of this subject in textbooks, including our own, outdated in that section. We are working on the update.

Step by step instructions on the use of NOAA tide and current webpage are included in this article.

Historic NOAA Tide and Current Tables, which include rotary current diagrams and other useful permanent tables. These data can also be used to check harmonic constants used in tide and current apps, as discussed in the above two links.

Plotting tools described and available. The basics are needed for the course, but there are many options and sources.
